Eva Cerezo is the recipient of our Exemplary Employee Award for April. This award recognizes outstanding employees who demonstrate their commitment to patients, family and co-workers through acts of caring, compassion and excellent customer service.

Cerezo is a Respiratory Care Practitioner who joined our Gardena team in October 2020.

She was nominated by a co-worker who had this to say:

“Eva consistently demonstrates excellence in her role as a respiratory therapist and is an invaluable asset to both the care team and our patients. She approaches every situation with calm professionalism, strong clinical judgment, and an unwavering commitment to patient safety. During high-stress situations, such as respiratory distress or rapid response events, Eva is quick to respond, thorough in her assessments, and confident in her interventions. She often anticipates patient needs before being asked and educates both staff and patients with patience and clarity.

One specific example that stands out is when our unit was short-staffed and managing multiple high-acuity patients on oxygen support. Eva went out of her way to frequently reassess patients, even those that were not assigned to her. She adjusted treatments as neede, and collaborated closely with nursing and providers to prevent further deterioration. Her presence alone brings a sense of reassurance and stability to the shift.

Eva is dependable, compassionate, and consistently goes above and beyond the expectations of her role, which makes her truly deserving of recognition as an Exemplary Employee.”

Another co-worker shared the following:

“Eva Cerezo shows excellent teamwork to her co-workers, always assisting them when needed.  She provides and maintains a high level of respiratory skills to her patients. She is an advocate for her patients’ safety needs, consistently reporting any safety concerns that there may be.”
