Lauren Koonce received the DAISY Award Jan. 23. The DAISY Award recognizes a nurse’s deep caring and compassion for the patients she serves.
Koonce joined the Gardena hospital in September 2025.
She was nominated by a patient who wrote the following:
“I would like to recognize my nurse, Lauren, for the exceptional care she provided. She was consistently proactive and attentive to every detail of my treatment. Her bedside manner is truly excellent; she was genuinely concerned about my well-being and made me feel like a priority. Being in the hospital is never easy, but Lauren’s professionalism and kindness made my stay incredibly pleasant.”
