Free Covid Clinic

GARDENA, CA – Monday, Jan. 17, 2022 – Memorial Hospital of Gardena will provide COVID-19 testing free of charge to the community in a special one-day clinic on Saturday, Jan. 22, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Appointments are required in advance by calling (310) 512-6141.

An estimated 150 tests will be given in the hospital’s Multi-Specialty Clinic Building located at 1141 W. Redondo Beach Blvd., Suite 212. Free parking is available in the garage behind the medical building, in the hospital’s parking lot and on surrounding streets.

Participants will receive hand sanitizer, an N95 face mask and educational information.

Those who should be tested include individuals who have symptoms of COVID-19 – or those who have been exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19.

“During this most recent COVID surge, testing opportunities have been hard to come by,” said Anchal Ghai, M.D., an emergency department physician and vice chair of the medical staff at Memorial Hospital of Gardena. “We want to provide this special service of COVID testing at this difficult time in our community.”

She added, “Our excellent physicians, nurses and healthcare workers have been dedicated to caring for patients in Gardena and surrounding communities for decades, and this is one more way to provide service.”

The special one-day testing clinic will offer the COVID-19 nose swab PCR test, which will determine if an individual has COVID. A positive test result means an individual is likely to have COVID and will be instructed to quarantine as a means of protecting others. A negative test result indicates that the individual likely did not have COVID at the time of the test.

Memorial Hospital of Gardena has served the local community for more than 70 years. The hospital is proud to be designated as a Primary Stroke Center and is accredited as a Geriatric Emergency Department. Memorial Hospital Gardena is part of the Pipeline Health system.
