Windy Yoon is the most recent employee to be honored by Memorial Hospital of Gardena with the Exemplary Employee Award for March. The award recognizes outstanding employees who demonstrate their commitment to patients, family and co-workers through acts of caring, compassion and excellent customer service.

Yoon is a case manager at the Gardena hospital. She joined the Gardena team in July 2025 and was nominated by the daughter of a patient she served. That family member had this to say:

“Windy was so positive, diligent, and kind. It made us confident that our mom’s care was in good hands. She kept us in constant communication and got things done quickly and correctly. We will never forget the tireless work she did to transfer our mother to the correct facility needed to treat her neurologically.

Our family is originally from the Bay Area, and this unfortunate hospitalization happened to my mom while on vacation to LA. This added an extra layer of stress as we were in  an unfamiliar area away from home. Windy continuously called hospitals and looked for transfer options all across the state, but she kept our request to be near the Bay Area in mind. Through her hard work she successfully secured our mom a transfer to CPMC in San Francisco.”

Yoon also was nominated by a co-worker who shared the following:

“We are thrilled to highlight the exceptional contributions of Windy, she was new to case management when she started at Pipeline Health. With her background in the emergency department, Windy has seamlessly integrated into our team. She consistently brings positive energy and a collaborative spirit, always willing to lend a helping hand to her colleagues. Her smart, critical judgment has been invaluable, and both nurses and CM team members genuinely enjoy working with her. Moreover, patients’ family members appreciate Windy’s thoughtful follow-up calls, ensuring that patients are discharged safely and comfortably. We are truly fortunate to have her on board!”
